As the old comes to a close and the new begins to emerge upon us, waves of doubts filled with fear can overwhelm the heart as it contemplates the unknown of what lies ahead.

As you set goals for the New Year make them big enough to let Christ in.

Lift me above what I have been, and set me onto a new path of righteousness and grace. Amen.

The first of the year is known for three things: black-eyed peas, bowl games, and lists.

We need to embrace and celebrate the little wins in our personal growth. Our growth might not be evident to others, but we can often see it clearly in our ownlives. It's a new year. God wants there to be a new you. It is within reach. It is His will and desire for you. Will you let go of the past? Will you get up from your fall? Will you go for the prize with all your heart?

When it’s all said and done, we have three things we can offer God—our treasure, our talent, and our time.

This year, as we exercise our faith and trust in Jesus our faith will grow stronger.

No wonder we have a hard time with New Year’s resolutions. We have so many people telling us what to do, we barely have time to think for ourselves… let alone think about what God thinks.

There lies before us the new year and we are going forth to possess it.

As you step into a new year, put your focus on one thing you want to do well in the coming year. Resolve to make a deep impact in one place.

You might be thinking of resolutions. But let me suggest that you start with your spiritual growth before turning to diets and exercise plans.

First, come before the throne of Almighty God with a repentant heart, praise, and thanksgiving. Then, ask Him for direction.

As we head into a new year, let’s start this one prepared, so when we face the trials of life we will stand.
