I never expected God to save me. Nick became the young man that every parent wants to see their child become. Nick was saved by God's grace, love and mercy just 3 months before he left this world. Although he was an inspiration to those who knew him; his kindness, work ethic and fun loving spirit... in his last months; God laid me on his heart. Here is the last text that I ever received from Nick...: "April and I are getting baptized next Sunday and our church is praying for you; we love you and you can start denying yourself and get back to Gods plan for you, it's never too late."... It didn't even register in my mind, (at the time) that Nick had just told me he had been saved... I had lost my way and my feet had taken me places I never dreamed that I'd find myself. After Nick's death in an auto accident, I had a choice to make; self-destruction or surrender my life into the hands of our Savior Jesus Christ. I chose the latter; or should I say... the Holy Spirit reached out to me and drew me to the Heavenly Father through Christ. Now, Jesus has changed my life and my family's forever.. He paid a debt that I never could and has brought Hope and Healing beyond what I could have ever of expected. See ya in Heaven Nikki-boy and thanks for your prayers and all the great memories we will all cherish for the rest of our days.
Graduating student gave commencement address at a public university, giving glory to Jesus Christ. When the student thanked Jesus, the packed arena of thousands of people gave the most resounding response. This is encouraging that even at a public institution, people appreciate when God is given the glory. Many people have said how inspired and encouraged they were that a student gave a speech going back to traditional, family values, and turning it back to God--which is refreshing, especially in today's day and age.
Doran Robin was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2004, He was contacted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation and given a chance to have one wish come true.. For years Make-A-Wish has been granting wishes for kids with a life threatening illness. The most amazing part of this organization is that they are not just granting children wishes.... they are giving these children one of the greatest gifts of all... Hope. The sad reality is that these children experiencing these diseases have many things stripped of their lives when they become ill with cancer. They cannot play the normal "contact" sports as their young and much more energetic friends, and along with many other things, they begin to feel isolated. This is where Make-A-Wish steps in. By granting these children the wishes (Which for Doran was a pool), they are giving these children who feel rejected and (expendable) to this world, allow each of these children to have a glimpse of hope, and to see that they will never be cast aside, given up on or forgotten, because they are loved by others who want to see them concor, succeed, and see wishes come true!

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone. (Matthew 14:22-23)
It's a tradition in Maine springtime to challenge your friends and plunge into the icy waters. This is properly known as the Polar Plunge. As followers of Jesus Christ, the Polar Plunge experience is a great reminder of the call to be bold in our faith, through public testimony of baptism and then sharing our faith with the world.
Will you except the challenge and take the plunge?
