We reported on news that ABC's American Idol was going to dedicate their Easter evening broadcast to songs of faith.  The event did not disappoint!

Featuring performances by CeCe Winans, Brandon Lake, and Carrie Underwood, American Idol made the most of the Easter holiday to exalt the program beyond its usual format to embrace the meaning of the season.

Here are highlights from those performances....

Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll sing their chart-topping hit, "Hard Fought Hallelujah".

Carrie Underwood mesmerized the Idol audience with her performance of "How Great Thou Art", from her GRAMMY Award-winning gospel hymns album My Savior.

AI host Luke Bryan even got in on the act to give us this tender song about faith and fatherhood, "Jesus Bout My Kids"
