Not every moment in life will give you warm, fuzzy feelings. No one leads a picture-perfect, Hallmark movie life. That may look good on the movie and television screens, but that’s not true to life at all.

The reality is that life is messy, unpredictable and challenging. Things don’t always go as we believe they should. No, instead there is pain, hurt and many ups and downs. To do much of anything in life requires a fair amount of persistence, determination and perseverance. Getting knocked down and failing are going to happen, so it’s best to get used to those unfortunate but undeniably real parts of life.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a cute, sweet little kitten demonstrated a ton of grit and a refusal to give up as it tried to scale a closet. Its buddy was able to climb up the closet with relative ease, but the tiny black-and-white cat had a much harder time of it.

The kitten tried and tried again, and every time, it would find itself falling down and eventually back on the floor. However, this cat was going to make it up there, if it was the last thing it ever did. When it failed to reach the top, it simply got back up and tried again.

Eventually, the cat overcame the challenge and reached the top. Now, it just has to figure out a way to get back down, which may prove to be even more difficult.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one canine took a completely different approach after seeing a curious, hungry squirrel outside. The dog, instead of jumping about and beating on the window, had a very pointed and direct message for the miniature critter. Of course, the dog was excited by the squirrel’s presence, but it gave the squirrel a warning, urging it to make itself scarce and scram.

In surprisingly good penmanship, the canine wrote, ordering the squirrel to “leave.” If that wasn’t clear enough to the squirrel, the canine then added a threat to its message, writing “or else.”

Apparently, the squirrel got the message and left, but not before registering its displeasure with the dog’s threat. An acorn, thrown by the squirrel, strikes the window.

Eventually, the goat even begins talking back, not wanting to come down because it is simply having way too much fun. This shows that most animals do what they want, and there isn’t much we can do to change that.

When one did something, the other dog would outdo the others, trying to show their owner that they were more worthy of the last treat than the other dog. Eventually, the woman gave in, but instead of giving the entire treat to one dog, she tore it in two, giving each pup half of the treat. Well, while this may have been a logical solution, it was a completely unacceptable one. It was all or nothing for those dogs, as both ran off in a huff, perturbed by how she handled the situation.

Nearly every person loves and adores animals. How could anyone, even if they aren’t necessarily an “animal person,” not find these furry little critters utterly fascinating and incredibly cute? No one enjoys going to the doctor. I’m sure there are people who like seeing their doctor, but I’ve never met one. That number must be very, very small.

Of course, many people have developed such a fear of going to the doctor because of the possibilities. In our minds, we always, always imagine the worst possible scenarios, including those dreaded doctor visits. What will they find? Will there be a cure? Will treatment do anything, or will I be too far along for surgery and pills to make any impact? Those are the kind of thoughts that immediately come to mind, and we’ve all been there and done that, likely every time that annual check-up rolls around.

While you and I may be afraid of going to the doctor, fearing the doctor will find an incurable disease or condition, this pup was a cool customer during its trip to the vet. The video shows the spotted pup quickly pacing about the room. Sure, it might look a tad nervous, but its unexpected move proves that fear has no grip on it.

The canine, while going back and forth throughout the examination room, stops momentarily beneath a table. It finds a spot that it likes, at least for a second. When the dog settles, it lays its arm on the lower rung of the table. It presents a picture-perfect example of cool, calm and collected.

While we may not be able to find agreement on much these days, we are all on the same page when it comes to doctor visits. We very much dislike them. Seriously, how could anyone actually enjoy going to the doctor? Being poked, stuck, needled and prodded and then paying handsomely for the whole awful experience is no one’s idea of fun. Who wants all that? Not this guy, that’s for sure. While seeing the doctor is rarely, if ever, enjoyable, it’s still extremely important to get those yearly checkups. Got to make sure everything is still running according to plan. Even animals do, or at least should, see the vet on a yearly basis. And as you might have guessed, they typically dislike the entire experience as well. It didn’t even whimper one time as the miniature doctor gave the animal a thorough once-over.

The sweet, surprisingly patient and good-natured animal simply sits peacefully and lets the little medical professional do her job. Now, I know what you’re thinking: there is no way that cat puts that on itself. I completely understand because I thought the same thing, but the video shows several instances of the cat putting it on itself.

And don’t try changing out its plastic cone for a new one because the cat will surely know something is amiss and sniff out the intended deception quickly.

Cats are strange and wonderful creatures, and this cat’s odd attention-seeking behavior is yet another example of that being true.

Hilariously, many parents would wholeheartedly agree that this duck listens better and is more attentive than their children. I guess “red light, green light” is so easy that even a duck can do it.

A pup’s plan to keep its toys hilariously backfires. The canine did not want to relinquish possession of a handful of items, and so the animal hatched a scheme to keep them, but that did not work out as expected. Getting rid of things can be difficult, especially if they have specific memories attached. Yes, there may even be a few tears shed during that process. However, the simple fact is that we cannot hold onto everything that comes into our possession. No one wants to end up on an episode of “Hoarders,” right?

While purging these items from our households can be challenging and even emotionally draining, it’s necessary. Getting rid of old, unwanted things makes room for the new. Every new beginning is only possible because of some other beginning’s end. Don’t be sad about something because it’s over; be happy because it happened. Or, you know, insert your preferred cliché about endings and beginnings.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a dog was having trouble letting go of its toys. It did not want to see these toys go away. They were special to the animal. So, in an attempt to foil its owner’s plan, the animal hatched a plan to hold onto those treasured items.

The video shows the animal running to the medicine cabinet and grabbing a bottle. While the woman was momentarily distracted, the canine, with the bottle in its paw, rushed over to the mug she was sipping from. Then, the animal started making a concoction that, theoretically, would have made her fall asleep.

However, that did not happen. Instead, the pup, being unable to read, mistakenly spiked her drink with caffeine. The pup’s owner would not be taking a nap anytime soon.

The looks the two dogs exchange are hysterical. They both seem to know they’ve failed, and it's just a matter of time until their precious toys are gone.

Everyone has spent their fair share of time on the playground. Who hasn’t? Weren’t those some fun times? Now, while you may not have visited one since your younger days, which may have been decades in some cases, you are more than familiar with them and can easily name pieces of equipment you’re likely to find on a given playground.

What’s even more likely is that you had a favorite piece of playground equipment. Personally, it didn’t get any better than the swings. Those things could literally take you to new heights as you soared backward and forward as the wind whipped through your hair. Also, if you were brave enough, when you were finished with the swings, you might have even let go while the swing was at a decent height, sending you soaring through the air until you inevitably made it back down to earth.

While the swings were obviously the best part of the playground, others might have felt differently. Some may have thought the slides offered a better, more fulfilling experience. That is how one pup feels, as it clearly cannot get enough of the slide. A posted clip shows that once the animal slides down and comes to a stop at the bottom of the playground equipment, it literally sprints back to the top.

No matter how much you may have liked the merry-go-round, the swings or the monkey bars, you did not like them nearly as much as this pup loves the slide.

Friends make life a fuller, richer and all-around better experience. No one wants to go through life alone. Even the quietest, most introverted person doesn’t desire an existence like that. How awful and lonely would that be? You wouldn’t wish that on your worst enemy.

Those we call friends are among the first we call when something good happens in our lives. Also, they are there as a shoulder to cry upon whenever something horrible happens. They are always willing to listen and talk, if that’s what we need, as well. See, who wouldn’t want as many friends as possible? They make the good times better and the challenging, difficult or painful times a little more bearable.

Another great thing about friendships is that anyone can be a friend. You don’t have to have the same background, beliefs or even be the same age to be friends. A sweet, heartwarming clip proves that anyone can be friends – even a cat and a baby goat.

How precious is this? The cat and the goat cannot get enough of one another as they show each other how much they care, continually rubbing their heads together.

This video is, without a doubt, special, especially given a cat's typical nature. Felines can at least appear to be aloof and uncaring, and shy away from showing affection and only do so when they feel like doing so. They are very different from dogs in that way, who are always ready to show how much they care. But that is not the case here, making for a beautiful, heart-melting moment between the two buddies.

A dog and an otter had a ball playing a game of tag. The two unlikely friends had the time of their lives chasing one another in what is arguably the cutest game of tag. Watch the short but adorable clip to see the two pals have fun chasing each other.

It’s impossible to have too many friends. No one will ever reach a point where they can say they have reached their limit with friendships. I mean, someone could theoretically say that, but there isn’t like an actual limit on the number of friendships one can have.  Also, that message isn’t likely to be received well. Can you imagine being on the receiving end of that?

Anyway, animals seem to be able to become friends with just about anyone. That’s one of the many things we all love about those creatures. Show them a little bit of kindness and love, and they’ll be your buddy for life. It doesn’t matter if you’re a human being, a warthog, the cat from across the street, a one-eyed penguin or a temperamental dairy cow; animals can make friends with anyone and anything.
